10 Tips to Supercharge Your Home Based Business with Your Blog
If you don’t have a blog for your home based business you are leaving a lot of money on the table. You also need to have a self hosted blog because the only blogs that work effectively are the ones that are updated regularly. You don’t want to put a lot of work into one only to have it taken away. If you don’t have a WordPress blog you need to get one because Google loves them and you make your own rules.
These tips will help you with your blog but they are really mistakes you need to avoid in the development of your blog.
1. Content is king: Don’t put up a few posts and stop. You need to post regularly because when someone starts following your blog they will expect to see new content and without it they will stop visiting. There are many different ways to come up with new content and all of your posts don’t have to be articles, some of them can be reviews of other people’s articles or blog posts.
2. All dressed up and no place to go: Putting up a killer blog with great content deserves kudos but you have to drive traffic to it to be or it does you no good. Use Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites to drive traffic to it.
3. Be a friend to get a friend: You need t build a group of followers. The best way to do that is to follow other people. Visit their blog and leave a comment, Tweet their content, share it on Facebook and post a link to their blog on your blog. It won’t be long before they start commenting on your blog posts.
4. Fine Print squint: Make sure your opt-in box is easy to read. You should test the look of your blog in different browsers and make sure your sign up form doesn’t look like a legal document. If people can’t read it they will never sign up on it. This is important because some people will even be looking at your site on a cell phone.
5. Double naught spy: If you have a great gift to give those who opt-in to your list you need to tell them about it. Some people don’t mention a valuable gift until after the sign up happens and that is a good way to cut down on your numbers.
6. Penny Pincher: Some people pay for a template for their blog and that is a good idea but don’t stop there. Get a professionally designed banner for your blog so you will look like a leader. It isn’t that expensive and will boost your credibility.
7. GPS: Make it easy to get around on your site. Your posts can be made easy to find by using pages as categories like recruiting, copywriting, traffic generation, etc… This is called Silo Pages and really boosts your SEO as well as making it easier for visitors to find your content.
8. Shout-Outs: Everyone could spend a little more time writing their headlines. You should always write several headlines and never settle on the first one that comes out. Visit http://www.Copyblogger.com for ideas for your headlines.
9. Lost Label chance: Putting pictures that are relevant is a very good idea but you should always label them with your main keyword. If you leave the label or caption blank you are missing a perfect opportunity to boost your SEO.
10. Gangsta Photo: It is great to put a photo of yourself on your blog but make it one with a friendly smile and not one that may scare someone away. Its one thing to show your personality but you could show yourself having some fun and wearing something better than a T-shirt and tattoos.
Of course these are just a few mistakes some people make and there are plenty of people who are doing just fine with their blogs even though they may have some of these mistakes on their site. However, it is never too late or a bad idea to fix your mistakes and even to laugh about them. You could even write an article telling how you fixed them.

11 Tips to Help You Turn Your Blog into a Network Marketing Cash Machine
The main purpose of using a blog for business is to convert the visitors to leads. Of course the purpose of the leads is to earn commissions from products and services you can sell to the leads. But that will only happen if you can get your personality projected onto the blog so visitors can come to KNOW and like you.
1. Get a professional tune up. There are many great themes that are free, however, people take one quick look at your blog and decide within seconds whether to look or book. So a well designed header will go a long way towards giving you a few more seconds to grab their attention.
2. Shotgun marketing. Don’t try to be a jack of all trades because that means you will be a master of none. Don’t try to use EVERY strategy out there for lead generation. Instead learn one or two and master them.
3. Blog Structure. Some people like to add pages and the links for those pages are at the top of your blog. This is expensive real estate and it should be used for a bio and for link architecture. In other words, those page links should go to your own blog posts. For instance you could have one that has links to your videos on it.
4. Don’t make a smelly copywriting mistake especially on your opt-in box. Some people break out their swipe file and put several intros into their tagline. Write it in your own words and make sure your box is above the fold so visitors don’t have to scroll to see it.
5. Make your offer irresistible. Work on your offer to visitors who opt in. If you are good at videos then give them videos but whatever direction you go make sure you give your best stuff so you build trust with them.
6. Content is key. One mistake people make is to write long articles or post several videos on one post. You get more mileage out of them if you break them up. Then you don’t have to work as hard and you have time to comment on other blogs.
7. Mug shot. One good way to earn trust and demonstrate you are a real person is to put pictures on your blog. This goes a long way towards bringing out your personality.
8. Adsense for cents. It isn’t that great to get a few cents for Google Adsense. Your blog has valuable space on it and letting Google use it is selling out because you can put your own banner ads or affiliate links and get more.
9. Credibility. You have to build credibility to your visitors by using testimonials as proof. People want proof from other sources. It isn’t enough for you to tell them, you need others to tell them also.
10. Retweet. You should really consider this tool. It makes it easy for people to make a tweet so their friends can see what you’re posting. It will also post your tweets to facebook if they are linked so you can push one click and inform thousands of people.
11. Loose. When you are writing your text or making your videos you should speak or write like you are talking to a friend. It cannot be stressed enough that you need to build a relationship with visitors who opt-in. That means treating them like a friend.
I hope these tips help you build a better blog. It really is the hub of all your social media sites. Before you spend a lot of time building one you really need to consider what you are doing and have a plan. That will go a long way towards getting traffic to it that returns for the content feast.

The source of these tips is a monthly publication called What’s Working Now?
I have to give due credit. This is a limited 20+ page product complete with videos. 15,000 sold out at launch with 5000 people on the waiting list.
It is, without a doubt, a tool that will quickly pay for itself.

7 Year Blogging Veteran Reveals His Most Closely Guarded Secrets to Insane Twitter Traffic
This is actually a review of an article in the new publication by Mike Dillard, What’s Working Now? This will sound like hype but it is what it is. This publication is the most important and cutting edge network marketing tool on the market today. I was fortunate to get it when it launched because the supply was limited to 15,000 and it sold out quickly. There’s a waiting list of 5000 for the next release which is coming soon.
The first issue has two videos by Daegan Smith and 20 pages of awesome tips and strategies that the best network marketers on the planet are using in their business. There’s no way I will glean information from this insanely valuable tool and share it without giving credit to the source. The true source comes from the top network marketers and it would be the death of my career to try to claim these ideas as my own.
This publication was promoted as being the ultimate solution for a problem that plagues thousands of network marketers, Information Overload. And it IS that solution. You could throw everything else away and just focus on this and it will transform your business.
If you do a Google search for Network Marketing Blog or MLM Blog, the #1 spot will belong to a man named Ty Tribble. This man is the source of this strategy and even though I am telling it you really have him to thank for sharing it and Mike Dillard to thank for getting him to.
Ty Tribble says he counted his blog posts since Oct. 2003 when he started and he came up with over 4000. That’s 2 a day, every day for 6 years. He is also listed in the top100 by Blog Rank. This strategy is powerful and, if you use it, it will transform your business. It is a strategy that is so awesome I almost feel like I am going to get in trouble for sharing it.
You really need a nerve center that is in peak form for best results but this publication helps you with that too. A nerve center is a blog that will get a high percentage of visitors to opt-in. This is really the most critical part of your business no matter where the traffic comes from. If you were able to drive thousands of visitors to your blog and none of them opted into your list you will have wasted all that energy.
The way this works is it plays off the hottest and most up to date topics. All you do is find articles in your niche at places like Alltop.com, which lists the top blogs, or PopURLS.com, which lists all the hottest links on many subjects. Write two sentences telling what you thought about it. One sentence about why you liked the article and another about the author or the blog.
You post that on your blog and ALWAYS remember to put a link back to the original article. You will have the authors thanking you and you will be using content that is proven to be popular. Then you post it on Twitter with a link back to your blog. If you do ten of these a day it will start to add up and you can cut years off your work to get loads of traffic through Google.
You can boost your relevant followers on Twitter by following the people that follow leaders in your niche. A network marketing leader would be Mike Dillard or Ty Tribble. Many of them will even have it automated to follow you back.
So, that’s it, just work on your blog, work on your Twitter followers, and post short reviews of hot topics in your niche on your blog with links to the originals, then Tweet about it.
As with this one, most of the super effective strategies that leaders come up with are beautiful in their simplicity and how obviously powerful they are. Of course, he did share some other tips in the article and this is just one article of many insanely incredible, cutting edge, strategies used by industry leaders in the first issue of this incredibly powerful tool.

9 Tips to Ramp up The Profits from Your Blog
If you are in a home based business, direct sales or network marketing business and you don’t have a blog you are missing a critical component of your online business. There is no end to the benefits of having a blog. You can have one for free if you already have a site hosted somewhere that has C-panel, which stands for control panel. All you have to do is click on Fantastico and then WordPress and start building.
I won’t go into setting one up because that would be a whole different article but I will say it is easier than you think and if you have one at a free blog site you should really consider getting a self hosted blog like the one you can get through WordPress because then you can play by your own rules.
If you go to Blogger.com, or any other free blogging site, you have to play by their rules and you could put a lot of work into one and lose it because of outside influences. Your work is a lot safer when you only have to play by your own rules.
These are some good tips if you want your blog to make you money but it’s your blog so play by your own rules but just to let you know, this is some very valuable and up to date information that is cutting edge and not hard to implement right away.
1. Your blog’s header is the most valuable space on your whole site. You should use a template that lets you replace the header or use a designer for a custom header.
2. Put an opt-in form on your home page. If you don’t have a form to capture contact info on your home page you might as well delete it because you are getting SMOKED by your competition. You need an auto-responder service so you can send out messages to your list of subscribers and these services all have a way to generate an opt-in form.
3. Using other pages on your blog is nice but you should always post every article on your home page. If you hide them on other pages you are losing the value of content on your home page.
4. Every article or post whether it is text, audio or video needs to have a call to action at the bottom that explicitly tells the reader what to do, where to click and what they will get or see. Tell them exactly what to do or it won’t work.
5. Your blog needs to be personalized so it will help show the type of person you are. It also helps to have pictures and videos and posts that bring out personality.
6. You can get more leads if you have more contact information on your site and require less information on your forms.
7. Having links to affiliate programs or products is great but it would also help if you had a review of those products posted on your blog.
8. You want to make getting around your blog site so easy a caveman can do it. It needs to be simple to find the content.
9. If you have a seal from a trusted site like Better Networker you need to put it at the top of the page and boost your credibility with testimonials and videos.
Anyone using social media in their online business needs a HUB to drive traffic to that they have total control over. This is like your own house and you invite others from all your sites to visit for a feast. You want to give them great content and valuable resources to feed on so they continue to return.
